The Video Dialogue Course is perfect if you want to get to a reasonably high level of ability using a mixture of formats, whether you are working abroad, studying for an exam or wanting to refresh your skills from previous study. These courses are the most widely used as they start from scratch, and yet provide the learner with a confident and competent level of a new language. Since the Video Dialogue Course gives you more chance to speak the language, you will benefit from improvements to your fluency, pronunciation and confidence.

Listen
This is the essential first step of the Linguaphone Method. A key feature is that all recordings on your cassettes or CDs are entirely in the language you are learning, spoken by native speakers of that language. Although this may initially sound strange, it is recognized as the best and quickest way to learn a language. You are immediately introduced to the new language as it really is spoken. You will be surprised how quickly and naturally you become accustomed to the new rhythms and sounds.

Understand
At the beginning you will not understand all the new language you hear on the recordings. Because of this, the case contains a bilingual handbook which gives you word by word and phrase by phrase translations and explanations of the language. The printed versions of the recordings can be found in your textbook and by following these you will develop your reading ability in your new language.

Speak
With Linguaphone you are encouraged to start speaking from the very first lesson, first imitating the native speakers featured on the recordings, and then actually taking part in the conversations yourself. Lesson by lesson new topics, words, and phrases are introduced and with each step forward your conversational skills will develop.

9 Compact Discs or 10 Cassettes Cassettes or CD recordings of native speakers ensure a good accent. 2 Videos The videos have footage of the language being used in context in the country itself, giving you a little of the people and culture as well as the language. Video Handbook The video hand book provides you with guidance and exercises that match the content of the two videos. Handbook The handbook is your tutor. Written in your own language, it fully focuses on improving your comprehension and overall ability. The handbook also includes lists of vocabulary and covers all the grammatical points as new words and phrases are introduced in the recordings. Textbook The textbook is a printed and illustrated transcription of the cassette and CD recordings. This means that you can follow the text while listening to the recordings and so become familiar with the spelling and structure of the language. Written Exercise Book The written exercise book allows you to practice what you've learnt. Oral Exercise Book The oral exercise book gives spoken practice and exercises to improve your accent and pronunciation. Study Guide The study guide gives you full instructions on how to plan your study and get the most out of your course.
