The word "chocolate" came from which language? The Aztec language Nahuatl, via Spanish.
How many letters are in the Hawaiian alphabet? The Hawaiian language is represented by 12 letters, 7 consonants and 5 vowels. There is also a symbol for the 'okina, or glottal stop. Diacritical marks are used to indicate different vowel sounds. We accepted 12 or 13 as correct answers.
Navajo has been used as a kind of code in wartime; name another language that has been used in this way. Welsh is one; several Native American languages such as Choctaw and Comanche were also used in this manner. Basque may have been so used as well.
Which king of England spoke no English? George I, a Hanoverian (German).
