Give your child the benefits of learning a second language

Research has shown that children who learn a second language do better in school, get higher test and SAT scores, go on to better colleges, and have the added job opportunities that only come with knowing a second language. Furthermore, a considerable amount of research has shown that learning a second language in childhood helps children learn to read and write their native language.

Based on natural learning principles

When children learn their native language in early childhood, it is not through the study of grammar rules and vocabulary lists. Rather, they learn the words for things around them simply by listening to others. They intuitively grasp an amazing amount of grammar and syntax. By using activities that simulate natural language acquisition, it is not only possible, but normal for children to learn a new language quickly and enjoy doing it!

Puzzles, games, stories, music

The Junior Course includes multi-sensory activities for all types of learners. Instead of using boring rote memorization and mind-numbing drills, this course gets children excited about communicating in another language. The adventure story, the variety of learning activities, and the simplified teaching methods are all designed to make learning interesting and fun.

What your child will learn

Children who complete this course can expect to understand a broad range of language, including greetings, numbers, body parts, questions, common phrases, colors, directions and much more. They will be able to construct sentences, sing songs and create stories of their own in their new language. About Power-Glide Courses

Over 30 years ago, Dr. Robert Blair, the designer of Power-Glide Foreign Language Courses, was captivated by a phenomenon we are all familiar with: Young people who had studied a language for 3, 4, or even 5 years could conjugate verbs and recite vocabulary, but typically lacked the ability to actually communicate. Maybe you were one of these.

As human beings, we are genetically equipped to learn a second language. But to learn any language effectively and without great frustration we must proceed in nature's way. Many have wrongly approached language as though grammar and vocabulary were the most important features to focus upon. With Power-Glide you'll gradually soak up the language, discovering the rules by which language works almost without noticing it! This method is called "natural language acquisition" because it more closely reflects the way children in every culture learn their own language. The exercises developed by Dr. Blair are designed to help you discover the language yourself.

Many language programs promise a shortcut to learning language. They assemble a selection of useful words and phrases and ask you to repeat what they say over and over until it sticks. The idea of achieving "complete fluency in any language in 90 days or your money back" is nothing more than misleading marketing hype, but sadly, many people fall for it and end up disappointed.

Power-Glide Courses are different because they are designed by linguists, not marketing strategists. Power-Glide Courses were created by Dr. Robert Blair, one of the world's leading linguists, who spent over 30 years developing this revolutionary language learning system. His study took him all over the world, and he spent years evaluating and experimenting with many teaching methods including, diglot weave stories, puzzles, games, songs, and other fun activities. Dr. Blair has also produced materials for translators, Peace Corps Volunteers, the U.S military, and students of all ages. He learned from and collaborated with dozens of world-renowned teachers and combined the best methods into one very exciting course. The result is an innovative and proven method to learning a foreign language. Best of all it's fun!

Reviews

"Foreign Language instruction should begin at the elementary level while the child's brain is absorbing information like a sponge. Power-Glide has made learning a second language easier for the younger crowd with it's introduction of their foreign language series for children. With their past successes in innovative curricula for middle and upper grades, Power-Glide is a company parents can trust for quality instruction. Learning a second language is easy and affordable and should be considered part of the foundation of the elementary age years. Parents can't go wrong in choosing products from Power-Glide!

"As one who designs educational programs for individual student in our school, I must tell you how impressed I have been with the Power-Glide material. I was able to examine the second year course material for our community college. Power-Glide's course is more comprehensive."
